Fantastic BBQ restaurant. Highly recommend the 2-meat plate. Turkey and chicken pictured here with potato salad and green beans. Their sauce is A+. Staff was friendly and very helpful--they even let me plug my dying cell phone in behind the counter and kept an eye on it. Be sure to stop here on your way past Salado!

Wonderful service and delicious steaks! Will recommend anyone to try this place if you're looking for a new steak place. Our server was fantastic and always knew when to come by so we didn't feel too bothered but we felt like we were taken care of.

I decided to check the place out since the resturant was once my grandmother's house and that I kind of grew up there and have alot memories there. I could still make out where the bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom stood. The place is nice. I had the sirloin steak, it had an excellent taste to it, but it was somewhat tough and over cooked (I asked for medium). The sides were good along with the sweet tea. Staff friendly and prices were fair. A little history of the place...My grand mother's name was Lucy Berry. She lived all her life in Salado. Before moving into the house she used to live on the creek. She was a faithful attendee of 1st Baptist Church next to the Tyler house. If you ever stayed with her, you had better be going to church on Sundays. She is buried along with my grandfather Houston Berry in the old Salado cemetery. I used to swim and collect arrow heads along the creek in the summers. One of the great places in Texas.

We were a party of 12 and didn't wait for a table at all. The brisket there was amazing along with there loaded waffle fries. The staff there is super friendly and patient and did a great job. All the food came out together, nothing was missed. There were options for vegans and gluten free. If you are hungry and in the area give them a visit. Overall great service and food, must try.

Great local BBQ spot! Stop for a bite at Johnny's. You will have to wait about 15 mins for your food to be ready but really worth it!
